Our Aims

At Millbrook Primary School we try to make learning interesting and engaging, purposeful and fun. In this way we hope to nurture the children’s self-esteem and confidence so that progress and attainment in all areas of the curriculum will follow.

At Millbrook Primary School we believe in ‘community’. Over the last 100 years the school has established strong links with the local community and we pride ourselves on our unique identity.

We aim to provide:

  • A safe, secure, happy and stimulating learning environment. The school is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.
  • A broad and balance curriculum. At Millbrook we aim to make our curriculum meaningful, interesting and fun, including real experiences for the children.
  • Opportunities for all pupils to excel. We believe that learning should be linked to the children’s personal interests and individual learning styles.
  • Play games and active learning to support their education. This is especially important in the early years at school, Foundation Stage and Year 1, but we believe that active learning is valid for all ages. We are committed to offering high quality PE and Sport to all our children.
  • We value parental support and to work together with parents for the benefit of the children. To achieve this we try to involve parents in their children’s education in a variety of ways.
  • Every child with the opportunity to experience success and to develop self-esteem.
